Meet Mrs. Reed

Mrs. Reed

Dear Cougar Families,

As the new Principal of Jean Callison Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great school year. My name is Jessica Reed and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Jean Callison Elementary. Before joining the Callison Family, I served as Principal and Assistant Principal of a large K-8th grade, Title I school in Fairfield, California. Prior to this time, I also served as the Head of Schools and Vice Principal for a private Preschool through 8th grade school in Fairfield, California. I have taught for numerous years and held various leadership positions from fundraising chair to serving as a sports coach.  As a first-generation college student, I earned a full Track Scholarship to California State University, Sacramento, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree. Soon after I earned a Master’s Degree in Education and my Teaching Credential from University of Phoenix, and in the later years, a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Touro University. I believe in having a growth mindset and being a lifelong learner; so, I plan to earn a Doctoral Degree in the near future.

As a first-generation college student, I strongly believe that ALL students can learn and achieve their hearts desire. No EXCUSES! I am passionate about academic achievement, teaching great character, PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports), and fostering lifelong learners. In 2018, I was voted Elementary Principal of the Year for ACSA Region 4, and I am honored to be recognized for my dedication to students, staff, and parents.

Outside of work, I am married to an amazing man and we have been together for 10 years.  I  must say that I am blessed to have him as a part of my life. Although I was born a Dallas Cowboy Fan, I have converted into a die-hard 49er Faithful Fan since marriage. GO NINERS! We have two children of our own who attend Vacaville Schools and have relatives throughout the county. My husband and I live and serve in Vacaville, in addition to service to the Fairfield and Vallejo communities, through our church and community organizations (Foster Greatness, Discovery Academy, and Solano Valley Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.  We are hard workers, but, once we arrive home, we like to hang out and just be silly. In our free time, we love to exercise, watch television, engage in sports and outdoor activities, dance, and shoot pool.

My personal and educational motto is  “Students First & Family First”. I am thrilled to be joining the Callison Family and look forward to an AWESOME YEAR!

If you need anything at all, please feel free to contact the school with further questions at 707.453.6250

Once again, welcome back! Let’s make it another great year at Callison!
